Louella Kerr Books was established in Sydney in the early 1980s by Louella and her generally silent partner Gerard Windsor. Both of us being voracious readers, our stock has an emphasis on literature, classics, children’s books, history, biography, travel, books about books, art and illustrated books, and of course, Australiana. We nevertheless offer interesting, ephemeral, and unusual books in any genre.

We no longer have a bricks and mortar store, dealing mainly through catalogues and the internet.

We look forward to seeing old friends and customers at the bookfair - so please visit us at Stand 1 at Wilson Hall from 7th to 9th July. We have a diverse range of books and ephemera to offer you. LYELL, Charles.

Original autograph letter, signed `Chas. Lyell' from Kirriemuir, 17 Aug. 1870, to an unnamed correspondent, (the publisher, John Murray?). The letter concerns proofs and corrections to his `work relating to the Sheppey fruits'. Sir Charles Lyell (1797-1874) was the leading geologist of the day. He was a close and influential friend of Charles Darwin. This letter is concerned with Lyell's soon to be published book, most probably `Elements of Geology, Students Series' which was published in 1871
